ATTENTION:
4th, 5th and 6th Grade Teachers!
We are pleased to announce that the 4-H Tropicana Public Speaking Program will be offered again this year. Sarasota County schools have participated in this program for twenty-three years!

The program will be offered to Elementary Schools (4th and 5th grade students) and Middle Schools (6th grade students).

The following is our time-line for conducting this year's program:

Date Event
September 2009 Information / Registration packets to school
December 7, 2009 Deadline to register schools
January 19th, 2010 Materials will be delivered to schools
Anytime February through March 2010 Schools conduct classroom activities, contests, and the school contest
March 29, 2010 Notify 4-H Office of your school winner
April 14th, 2010 County Contest!

 

Materials will be delivered to schools; Each student will receive a “Tips for Giving A Great Speech”, a letter to Parents and a Certificate of Participation. 

Classroom Winners will receive 1st (Blue), 2nd (Red), and 3rd (White) place classroom-ribbon. School Medallions: will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners in the overall School Contest. 1st Place school winners will be invited to attend the County-Wide Contest.

Additionally, each of the First, Second, Third and Fourth Place County Winners will be awarded a beautiful plaque at the conclusion of the County Contest.
