Seat Belt Safety School Enrichment

This Florida 4-H Classroom enrichment
project is designed for grades K-12.
The greatest crippler and killer of people under the age of 35 is motor vehicle accidents. One major safety device, the safety belt, is effective and available to all who ride in cars, trucks, and vans. Through a partnership with the State Safety Office, Florida Department of Transportation, we have a wide range of educational materials available.
 
Pre K – A Magic Ride A coloring book designed to teach small children to stay buckled in their seats.

Pre K – A Gift for Suzie A coloring book. It stresses the importance of being buckled in a booster seat and the use of seat belts by adults.

Grades K-1 – Buckle Up Helpers Easy read and color booklet stressing the importance of buckling up.

Grades 1-3 – We Care Eight page booklet stressing the importance of buckling up everyone.

Grades 2-3 – Pete’s Pals Pete and the penguin and his friends learn the importance of buckling up and never riding in the back of a pick up truck.

Grade 4 - Safer Way Helps students realize safety belts are used in many places because they can save lives.

Grades 4-5 - Buckle Up Kids Introduces inertia and other scientific principles to help students realize the risk associated with collisions.

Grades 6-8 – Your Car and Your Life Points out what happens in collisions and how safety belts work to save lives.

Grades 9-12 – Choosing Your Vehicle This publication discusses various safety features in vehicles, their use and importance, licenses and driving requirements, shopping for and financing a car and driver responsibility.
